The Android Market Size to Surpass Apple’s App Store
Researchers conclude that Google’s Android Market will surpass Apple’s App Store in the number of apps provided by August 2011.
The research was provided by two analytic companies Distimo and Germany-based research2guidance. Both research shows that due to the declining growth of Apple’s App Store and the continuing growth of Google’s App Market, Google will become the leader in number their number of apps. In April 2011, the Android Market added 28,000 new apps compared to Apple’s App Store who only added 11,000. The analysts predict the change will occur when both app markets reach a total of 425,000 apps by August 2011.

So what does this mean for us? Not much, even though the shear number of apps will increase for Google market, that doesn’t mean that all apps released will be premium or top apps. At the end of the day its about quality over quantity, and that really comes down to how users personalize their phones to suit their needs.
