Is ‘PS Vita’ The Official Name to the Sony NGP?
The name ‘PS Vita’ has sprung up a couple times in the Sony universe. The latest incarnation of the name appeared a handful of times through Sony’s E3 2011 web page source code. While rumours are circulating that PS Vita is actually the official name to the previously announced NGP (Next Generation Portable), a more plausible answer might be the name is an internal codename of the device. Similarly, the original DS, before Nintendo revealed the official name, was introduced as DS (for Dual Screen or Developers Systems) at a previous E3 but the actual internal name given to the handheld was Nitro.
