The Nintendo E3 2011 Press Conference has begun. Check back here to this article for up-to-date news and announcements from Nintendo. Do not forget that this E3 Nintendo will be unveiling the successor to the Wii!

12:05PM – Classic Nintendo songs being played by a live orchestra with classic trailers of Nintendo characters in various games on the background TV.

12:12PM – Shigeru Miyamoto now on stage to showcase Legend of Zelda : Skyward Sword various songs (such as when picking up a new item) through the live orchestra.

12:16PM – Original Legend of Zelda will be on 3DS Virtual Console by day end. Next week, Legend of Zelda 3D will launch next week on the 3DS.

12:17PM – Legend of Zelda : 4 Sword will be available for DSi for free! Legend of Zelda : Skyward Sword will be available for Wii by Holiday 2011, game is complete.

12:19PM – Will be offering a Legend of Zelda Live Orchastra Concert in each region in the Fall. Specific dates will be revealed in coming future.

12:21PM – Will be offering two different musical CD’s in relation to the 25th Anniversary for the Legend of Zelda.

12:25PM – 3DS Line-up Trailer: Mario Kart 3DS, Star-fox 3DS, Super Mario 3DS, Kid Icarus, Luigi’s Mansion 3DS.

12:3PM – Mario Kart 3DS Trailer : Keeps same art style from the DS version, thankfully I did not see any bikes like in the Wii version. Allows you to customize your karts. Underwater levels! Release date is Holiday 2011.

12:32PM – Star Fox 3DS – You can use buttons or use gyro for manouvering. Face capturing within multiplayer games. Release date is September 2011.

12:33PM – Super Mario 3DS : Brand new 3D Matio for the handhelds (3D world not 2D!!! while obviously also in 3D pop-out visuals). Carries the same had as in Galaxy without the need to collect star bits. Release date is 2011.

12:36PM – Kid Icarus Uprising : New trailer released. Game looks great and enjoyable. 3 on 3 multi-player action. Game uses augmented reality for matches.

12:33PM – Luigi’s Mansion 2 for 3DS – Same look and feel as the Gamecube original, which is a good thing. Brand new game with many new mansions to explore. Cannot wait. No date given.

12:40PM – 3′rd Party Trailers : Resident Evil The Mercenaries, Ace Combat 3D, Tetris, Mario and Sonic London Olympic Games, Cave Story 3D, Resident Evil Revelations, Driver Renegade, Pacman and Galaga Dimensions, Tekken 3D, Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D

12:43PM -3D Virtual Console Store for 3DS. Remake of old games into 3D. 3D Classic Excitebike will be available right now.</P

12:45PM – Pokemon Pokedex 3D. Receive Pokemon through Streetpass and scanning AR marker. Only through 3DS e-Shop. Must perform system update to install Pokedex 3D

12:46PM – New Nintendo console name revealed. It is called Wii U.

12:33PM – Controller has a 6.3-inch touch screen with two joysticks and classic 4 face buttons, two sholder buttons, accelerometer,gyro and front facing camera. You can also use both the console and controller in unison to enhance gameplay. Some games will allow you to move the console experience onto the controller. New Wii Fit, Zelda, and Sports games shown. Release date is 2012.

12:54PM – The Wii U will be backwards compatible with Wii games and accessories.

12:54PM – The controller is not designed to be a portable handheld, but a way to enhance your gameplay. The image is transferred through WiFi and is said not have any latency issues.

12:59PM – Kid Icarus Uprising and a new Super Smash Brothers will be available for both 3DS and Wii U. There will also be some elements of connectivity between the two platforms.

1:05PM – New Lego Cities Stories game will be available exclusively for both 3DS and Wii U.

12:54PM – Batman Arkham City and Assasins Creed will be available for Wii U. Some hardcore games on a Nintendo platform….interesting. 3′rd Part Trailers: Darksiders 2, Dirt, Aliens Colonel Madness, Ghost Recon Online, Metro Last Light, Tekken, Ninja Gaiden 3. Woooow what a line-up. Graphics look on par to the PS3/Xbox 360.

12:54PM – EA Sports CEO on stage. Stating Madden and Battlefield 3 will be available on Wii U (Can already imagine picking Madden plays with the touch-enabled controller).
