New Nintendo Home Console Revealed – The Wii U
Just a couple minutes ago, Nintendo unveiled the successor to the Wii, the Wii U. The new console features a brand new controller which will change the way we (pun intended) play games at home. On the front, the controller features a 6.3-inch touch screen with two analog sticks and classic 4 face buttons, on the back two shoulder buttons, and within an accelerometer and gyro. The controller also integrates a front-facing camera which was shown in the trailer to be used for video-chat but will definitely be incorporated in future games.
The user will be able to use both the console and controller in unison to enhance gameplay in certain games. Some games will allow you to move the console experience onto the controller and play on the go. However, you will need to be within WiFi range of the actual console in order to continue the experience. Nintendo did strengthen the comment that the controller is not another handheld. As much as the controller is the big news, the new console is capable of 1080P HD performance. In the trailer, the release date is scheduled for sometime in 2012.
