Codemasters, the publisher behind the highly acclaimed Dirt series, has been the next victim of the ‘hacking virus’. Following an important and urgent email sent out today by Codemasters, the publishers released information that “on Friday 3rd June, unauthorized entry was gained to our Codemasters.com website.”

The email continues to state that the main codemasters.com website and many sub-domains were accessed in this recent intrusion. “Customer names and addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers, encrypted passwords, and order history” were compromised from Codemasters EStore. In addition, date of birth, IP addresses and Xbox Live Gamertags, and biographies of registered users were stolen from their CodeM database.

Codemasters urges all users to change their passwords, especially if you used the password in various other sites, and be cautious of potential scams offered through email’s and phone calls.
