PS Vita To Use Proprietary Memory Cards?
Amongst all the buzz and excitement of E3, some of the details for Sony’s upcoming Plastation Vita were glanced over. Upon closer inspection of the memory cards that were displayed at E3 along side the Vita, while at first glance it appear to be standard SD cards but may in fact be a proprietary brand of SD cards from Sony. The SD cards in the above picture are of slightly larger size than most SD cards and can be further distinguished by the different ridges found on the right side.
We find this somewhat disappointing but not necessarily surprising as Sony has of history of using propitiatory and often expensive formats such as Memory Stick Pro Duo, Minidisks and UMD’s.
