Exclusive: Samsung Galaxy S II 4G Will Retail For $599.95 Off-Contract

We recently got our hands on the pricing of the Samsung Galaxy S II which is confirmed to be hitting Bell on July 14th. It looks like the retail price off-contract will be the higher of the two prices previously suggested (499.99 or 599.99) and there is still no word on what Bell’s pricing will be on contract. We have also received further confirmation of the release date, just follow us after the break.

While it was expected that the price of the device was going to be at a premium we are glad to find out that it is not near the 699.99 range. The price is understandable however, because the device is a high end model and will top the charts of all benchmarks for quite some time. Check out the device review here. We have also heard news of a possible kernel update that might hit Galaxy S II users in the future, which will upgrade the processor to 1.5GHz through an over the air update. This would be a great addition to an already impressive device, and seems somewhat justified when considering the Google Nexus “Prime” will feature a 1.5GHz processor off the bat (Thanksgiving release).

From what we can see, its just stating the suggested retail price will not differ on the contract you pick. Regardless, the off-contract price will be $599.95.

      The S II won’t be powered by Tegra 2, but a dual-core 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A9 proccessor with a Mali-400MP GPU.
