Panasonic’s Little Robot That Could Set to Challenge the Ironman Triathalon

The Panasonic Evolta is a small battery powered robot that has proven to be capable of accomplishing tasks that even some human beings aren’t able to.  The Evolta has taken part and completed 3 grueling events; climbing to the top of the Grand Canyon, biking for 24 hours of Le Mans, and finally walking the 500km from Tokyo to Kyoto without breaking a sweat. The robot runs off three Panasonic rechargeable batteries and is scheduled to be put to the test by completing the week long World Challenge IV. The World Challenge IV is a three part Triathlon consisting of a 3.8km swim, 180.2km bike, and ending with a 42.2km run. The event will begin on October 23rd and will be broadcasted live online while also providing updates through twitter. Let me just say, where can I buy one?

Check the video explaining the event and the discussion with one of the Evolta developers, Tomotaka Takahasi, after the break.
