HP Updates Final Touchpad Sale Pricing to $219 and $249 for the 16GB and 32GB Models Respectively
As the final shipment of the HP Touchpad looms over North America (well more precisely USA), HP has decided to test their luck by updating the pricing on the infamous Touchpad. Initially, HP had announced that they no longer plan on remaining in the tablet market and will commence a fire sale of the Touchpad at an unbelievable price of only $99 for the 16GB model and $149 for the 32GB. Disregarding anything about it being a discontinued product, the pricing alone caused a huge frenzy with everyone and their mom wanting a unit.
Now almost a month and a half after the fire sale began, HP will begin the final official sale of the Touchpad before shutting down production. Interestingly enough, HP updated the pricing on the final sale to almost “hoarder” pricing with a $120 increase for the 16GB and a $100 increase for the 32GB. With the new pricing I cannot see myself or anyone that is familiar with other competing tablets be excited about the Touchpad anymore. With the soon to be released Kindle Fire for only $199 or even the Playbook as low as $299, it’s hard to recommend a now defunct tablet so close to other continued developing tablets.
