After all the commotion of last week’s postponed event at CTIA we finally have a set date for Samsung’s Ice Cream Sandwich flavored Nexus Prime smartphone. The event is being held in Hong Kong during All Things D’s AsiaD conference. As you can see below the time is set for 9:00 AM however that is set for Hong Kong Time. For those of us in North America we will be able to watch the conference via livestream at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time on October 18th. You can catch the livestream at Google’s Youtube Channel.

Hit the jump for the summary of the latest news about the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Operating System as well as the Nexus Prime.

Android 4.0- Ice Cream Sandwich Details:

-If you haven’t already updated your Google Music (Streaming Service) to the new Ice Cream Sandwich edition (4.0) we recommend you do so as soon as possible because it is quite better than the original. This update includes a new interface, controls and much better functionality.

-Since Google’s IO conference a while back we’ve known about how ICS will incorporate hardware acceleration into the processes and this should make the devices run much smoother.

Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Device Details:

-The latest news reports suggested a launch date of early November but that will be confirmed at next week’s event.

-The latest in device specs includes:

Processor: Samsung’s Exynos dual-core cpu clocked at 1.5GHz

GPU: PowerVR SGX543MP2, the same GPU found in the iPad 2

Camera: 8 MP camera with 1080 HD video recording (probably a 2MP front)

Battery: 2050mAh    <—WOW, that’s the largest battery on a smartphone device

GSMArena specs are bogus. Exynos is just now starting to sample and it is not possible to have 2050mah battery in a profile that slim.
