Android OS 4.0 (ICS) Available Later Today For Samsung Devices

Update: The update is now live Via Samsung Kies (Desktop Application). Let us know in the comments below how you’re liking the official update.

It looks like carriers in Canada are expected to finally roll out the official ICS 4.0 OS for a variety of the “pre-NEXUS Prime” Samsung devices. The announcement was received via email by the guys at MobileSyrup, but this all seems a bit premature given carriers have yet to announce any official upgrade. The updates are expected to be released sometime tonight, we will keep our eyes peeled and hope for more information.

Liste of devices expected to receive the upgrade:

- Galaxy S II (LTE, HD, X)
- Galaxy Note
- Galaxy Tab 7.0 (Plus)
- Galaxy Tab 8.9
- Galaxy Tab 10.1

    Any news on this?

Not much, no reports of anyone receiving the updates. From what I understand of this news, Samsung has completed their software and have sent it off to Bell, Rogers, Telus, etc. Now we wait for them to apply bloatware and then send it off to us OTA. I expect in a weeks time or so, hopefully not any longer.

For what its worth, I’ve been using a custom ROM on my GSII (Resurrection ROM) for the past few months and I’m loving it.
